One week down, one week to go!
The stats from week one of the 2012 edition of Pablove Across America looked a little like this – 450 miles ridden, 18,000 vertical feet climbed, one bout of food poisoning, one minor crash, almost $11,000 dollars raised for the foundation and 16 new friends made! The riding has been epic, and the memories we’ve made together will last a lifetime.
Week two began much like week one – only colder and a little more wet. We’re down to 6 riders this week, so the group is a bit tighter and we got down to business quite quick. We rolled over 95 miles of pastoral Pennsylvania countryside on our way down to Towson, Maryland. Today’s climbing total was close to 7500 feet making this an incredibly challenging day. We all pretty much hit the hotel, got massage and dinner then immediately hit the chill button (I’m writing this post and watching the Saints game).
We dedicated our ride today to a very special young man who’s currently in treatment – Andreas Knickman. His father, Roy, is a childhood hero of mine from back in the 7-Eleven days.
Tomorrow we’re rolling into the nation’s capitol – a mere 75 miles down the road. Thanks for keeping up with this blog, and thanks so much for your continued support of the Pablove Foundation.
If you can help, I’m aiming to raise $15,000 before we arrive in Raleigh on the 13th of October, and could use your help! You can contribute by clicking on the “Donate Now” button in the widget on the homepage, or by visiting my fundraising page.
