PAA 2012 Day 4 Kickoff

Today, our journey took us from Norwalk, CT to Lyndhurst, NJ. What started out as a tremendously beautiful roll through western Connecticut and into New York, state turned a little sour when three of our riders hit the deck on a metal bridge just about 5 miles from our hotel.

This year’s Pablove Across America team has really worked so hard to persevere through some pretty challenging conditions and circumstances. And today was really no different. We’ve been rained on just about every day, we’ve been stricken with food poisoning and today we had our first pretty bad crash.

However, none of these challenges seem to linger in the brain for very long, because we’re all just dazzled by the beauty of the countryside we’re riding through.

After arriving in Tarrytown, which is on the east side of the Hudson River, we shuttled across the river to Nyack and rode down Henry Hudson Dr., which is the most unbelievable strip of road. It was raining, there were these ridiculous waterfalls, and eventually, the George Washington Bridge and the skyline of Manhattan emerged from the mist across the river.

Arlo Guthrie at the Tarrytown Music Hall!

Oh yeah, and Arlo Guthrie is playing in Tarrytown soon. Shot this for my little homie back home!

If you can help, I’m aiming to raise $15,000 before we arrive in Raleigh on the 13th of October, and could use your help! You can contribute by clicking on the “Donate Now” button in the widget on the homepage, or by visiting my fundraising page.

Ride on!
